How Ranks Work Empty
PostSubject: How Ranks Work   How Ranks Work I_icon_minitimeSun May 15, 2011 8:15 pm

When we were developing the ranks we had one thing in mind: "What ranks would be fun to RP as?" Gathering inspiriation from game developers, books, and WoW lore over all we developed a ranking system that we believe anyone can find a place within:

__________________________________________________

LORD

The Lord of the Remnant is the current guild leader and is the figurehead of the guild as a whole. His job within the guild is manging the entire organization and ensuring the guild is working smoothly. This ranges from scheduling raid times all the way to recruting new members and seeing them properly placed under Thanes for training. His job is every job within the guild and will take the place of certain individuals if their job is not being done correctly.

COUNCIL MEMBER

-In total there are 4 Council members and the Lord, creating the Council entirely. However, each Council member has their own title and job to fulfill. That is why this section is in categories.

-The Shadow-
-The Shadow is the direct shadow of the Lord himself making him 2nd in command of the ENTIRE guild. His/Her job is managing everything in the guild just as the Lord does himself. He can appoint new Council Members and remove fellow Council members if he wishes at any time. The Lord of the guild can revoke his decision, but the Shadow has all the right to remove or promote a person to a Council Position. He is also in charge of making sure all Council members are doing their respective jobs. If not, he is to demote them to a rank he sees fit for them.

-The Eye-
-The Eye of the Remnant is in charge of all recruiting for the guild and ensures that all Agents are recruiting as well. The eye also works as an ambassador to other guilds and can deny or approve a treaty between the Remnant and another guild at will. If the Eye declares war and receives the Lord's nod, the Remnant goes to war. The Eye also looks for individuals within the guild that deserve a promotion. He sends these individuals names' to the Lord for review.

-The Soul-
-The Soul of the Remnant is focused on the creation of events for the Guild. The Soul is also the one that must approve ANY RP Event before it is done. That includes a RP event that even the Shadow of the Remnant has created. The only individual who can activate an event without the Soul's permission is the Lord himself. The Soul also oversees all Quartermasters in the guild and ensures they are gathering funds for the guild bank.

-The Fist-
-The Fist of the Remnant is in charge of ALL of the Remnant's military and the groups within the guild. He/She appoints individuals to lead Thanes and Guardians and ensures that they work in accordance with his/her guidelines. He/She also has the power to destroy a member created group at will if it doesn't live up to what the Remnant expects.

COMBAT POSITIONS:

THANE

Thanes of the Remnant are members of the guild that hold true to all the virtues that the Remnant enforces. Respect, honor, and loyalty are a daily part of the their lives as they act as the fist of the guild and preform combat services for the Remnant across Azeroth. Thanes can also take on a variety of other roles depending on what the Council needs of them. The Thanes are commanded directly by the Fist of the guild and answer only to him and the Lord of the entire guild. To be a Thane is an honor next to that of being a Council Member. This rank is not easy to obtain. However, if the thought of adventure, honor, and glory perk your interest then the rank of Thane is for you. To be a Thane requires much from you RPwise and OOCwise. Are you up to that challenge?

GUARDIAN
Guardians are Thane's in the making, so to speak. They are footsoldiers of the Remnant but are not the elite units that the Thanes are. Guardians are placed under specific Thanes in squads to be taught further discipline, patience, and other values needed to be a true Thane of the Remnant. Guardians are as much protectors to the guild as Thanes which should demand high respects from fellow guild members. Even those of higher rank.

NONCOMBAT POSITIONS:

AGENT

An Agent of the Remnant is the guilds field worker. They are individuals who are sent out onto the field all across Azeroth to gather information for the guild Council. They can act as spies, recruiters, and even diplomats if necessary. They are members of the guild who will find themselves alone at times, but work closely with two others wherever they are placed in Azeroth for intel and recruit gathering. Being an Agent is very taxing and much is required of you RPwise and OOCwise.

QUARTERMASTER

Quartermasters are the businessmen of the Remnant. They make money for the guild through gathering and selling resources while also arranging events and dealing with cross-world situations for the guild. Quartermasters are mostly found in cities and usually work in pairs of two. Being a Quartermaster makes you someone who is very important to the guilds growth and development. In fact, Quartermaster's are often found recieving the most praise from officers for their work in maintaining the guild. If money is your trade, you enjoy setting up events, and the thought of being valued heavily by the guild interests you, then seek out to be a Quartermaster within the Remnant.

CARETAKERS

Caretakers are the more simple-folk of the Remnant. They follow the guild and range from doctors to cooks. They take care of the guild in their own ways and their position does not require them to be in the field at any time. In fact, while the Remnant pursues military operations, most Caretakers will be directed to remain where it is safe and out of harms way. Caretakers are not fighters for the Remnant, but are still expected to aid the guild in some way or form. No member of the Remnant does nothing towards the guilds success.

POTENTIALS

Potentials are new comers to the Remnant. They are not considered official members until they are mentored by a Thane or Council Member and pass the BRPE test. Potentials are expected to get with the Fist of the guild and get placed with a mentor within a week of joining. If a potential joins the guild and does not get in contact with the Fist within a week to be placed for full guild membership, they are removed.
